SCUBA DIVING COURSES FOR BEGINNERS

Prodivers offers a number of different ways in which you can try diving or alternatively get yourself qualified as an Open Water Diver. Our experienced instructor team are on hand to help you make the most out of your diving with Prodivers.

If you would like to give diving a try, but don't really want to go through a full course, we are pleased to offer a number of options that let you get your hair wet and experience the underwater world:

Introduction Dive
For those who have never tried scuba diving before. After a short information session, one of our instructors will take you into the shallow lagoon to see whether you enjoy "blowing bubbles" underwater. The maximum depth is 2 meters, and the groups are small with a maximum of 6 students per instructor.

Resort Dives
For those who want to see more, but don't want to do a full course or obtain a certification. The Discover Scuba Diving program (Resort Dives) lets you develop some basic skills that allow you to dive outside of the lagoon area. Small groups of up to 4 students per instructor.

1st Dive: Short theory session followed by setting up of the equipment. Shallow dive in the lagoon to learn some basic diving skills.

Subsequent Dives: After graduating from the lagoon, the 2nd dive takes place on the Kuredu House Reef and the 3rd at a local dive site (via boat). The maximum depth for both dives is 12m.

PADI Bubblemaker
Are you 8 years old and want to try diving? The PADI Bubblemaker Course lets you get into the water and see all the amazing fish beneath the surface. Who knows, maybe you get lucky enough to see some sharks, and imagine your friends' faces when you get back to school and tell them. The dives take place in the shallow lagoon (maximum depth 2m), with small groups of 2-3 Bubblemakers per instructor.

PADI Entry Level Dive Courses

If you are looking to complete a diving course and have a certification that the allows you to dive anywhere around the world, we offer a selection of courses designed to match your holiday needs:

PADI Scuba Diver Course (PSD)
Don't have enough time for a full Open Water Course? The PADI Scuba Diver certification allows you to dive anywhere in the world, under the supervision of a divemaster or instructor to a maximum depth of 12m. Courses take 3 days.

PADI Open Water Diver Course (OWD)
The PADI Open Water Diver certification allows you dive anywhere in the world to a maximum depth of 18m. Courses take around 5 days to complete.

Through the PADI ELEARNING initiative, it is now possible to complete the theory section of the Open Water Course online before coming to the Maldives, leaving more valuable time for diving and the sunbed.

PADI Open Water Diver Referral
Start your Open Water Course at home and complete it in the warm waters of the Maldives! The Referral option lets you complete the theory and confined water dives before you leave home. Make sure your instructor completes the necessary referral paperwork and signs your logbook and we will provide the instructor for you to finish the course in the warm Indian Ocean.
